Forest City striker sets record in win

Wade Loomis netted seven goals to set a single-game school record to lead Forest City to a 10-3 win over Old Forge Thursday after being pounded 9-1 to Lakeland on Wednesday.

Christian Mozeleski also netted two goals while Jordan Hicks earned 15 saves for the Foresters.

Loomis’s third goal of the game was also the senior’s 50th of his career.

Against Lakeland, Loomis scored the lone goal and Jordan Hicks had 10 saves for Forest City.

BLUE RIDGE

The Raiders shutout Mid Valley 2-0 in their home game Friday.

Alan Weed and Brandon Rafferty scored to lead the Blue Ridge offense while Brad Palmatier recorded four saves in the shutout.

The Raiders improved to 3-1 on the season.

ELK LAKE

The Elk Lake boys’ soccer team coasted to two shutout wins at Mid Valley on Wednesday and at Riverside on Sept. 17.

Against Mid Valley, the Warriors jumped to a 2-0 lead after goals by Tyler Arnold and Tanner Reyan. Reyan added two more goals in the second half for a hat trick, Arnold added his second goal and Kyle Roman scored to give Elk Lake the 6-0 win.

Ben Woolcock had three assists and Nick Dudock had seven saves in his second straight shutout.

Woolcock also recorded a hat trick in the 5-0 win over Riverside. Bailey Tyler also chipped in a goal for the Warriors.

Nick Dudock recorded 10 saves in the shutout.

MONTROSE

The Meteors scored four goals en route to a 4-2 home win over Dunmore Wednesday, but dropped their make-up game against Holy Cross, 3-2, at Polonia Park Thursday.

Matt Lewis and Matt Simonds each scored a goal against the Crusaders, who beat the Meteors off a penalty kick in the 75th  minute.

Lewis tied the game 1-1 against Dunmore with a goal at the 28:58 mark off an assist from Matt Simonds.

Nick Henry followed with goals at 60:10 and 60:33 and sealed the win with another goal in the 78th minute to earn the hat trick. Giovanni Amato also added an assist for Montrose.

Justin Hartman had two saves for the Meteors, who improved to 3-1 this season.
