A Mountain View High School learning support teacher will forever surrender her teaching credentials after admitting, Friday, to having sex with an 18-year-old student in March at her home in Great Bend Twp.

Megan Fae Clough, 29, Hallstead, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of indecent assault in front of Susquehanna County Senior Judge Kenneth Seamans.
The Pennsylvania Department of Education requested the voluntary surrender of her credentials. District Attorney Jason Legg said those had been signed by Clough.

As part of the plea agreement, Clough will receive a 24-month probationary sentence, and will be required to undergo an evaluation by the sexual offenders’ assessment board prior to her sentencing tentatively scheduled for Feb. 18.

Clough had faced a felony count of sexual contact with a student. State law makes it a felony for a teacher (or school district volunteer) to engage in a sexual relationship with a student.

In the plea agreement, Clough admitted in court that, due to the teacher-student relationship, as well as the victim’s personal circumstances, the 18-year-old male was not capable of giving consent.

Allegations against Clough first came to light after a parent reported that the teacher had sent naked pictures of herself to a male student using the social media app, Snapchat.

Clough had been suspended from her teaching position at Mountain View without pay pending resolution of the matter, according to Mountain View Superintendent Karen Voigt. She had been employed in the district for three years.
