Montrose and Forest City beaten in semifinals

The Montrose and Forest City golf teams were both ousted in their semifinal Lackawanna League Small School Division matches Friday.

MONTROSE
The Meteors advanced to the semifinals against Dunmore after beating Lakeland 8-1 Wednesday, but the Bucks, who are undefeated except for a tie, won 6.5-2.5

The teams split three individual matches on the front nine at the Scranton Muni but Dunmore won three swing matches by 1-up.
Caleb Hoal, Dave Lopatka and Codi Benedict each earned individual splits for Montrose, who finished the season at 10-4.

Against Lakeland, Kory Morrison, Bradley Wayman, Cameron Dean, Austin Smith and Benedict won their individual matches to lead the third seeded Meteors.

FOREST CITY
The Foresters lost 6.5-2.5 to Holy Cross at Scott Greens Friday after making their first playoff appearance in five seasons when they beat Old Forge, 6-3, .at Memorial Links Wednesday.

Dylan O’Dell won his individual match 4 and 3 and teamed up with Nick Rutledge to win 1-up in their doubles match for Forest City, who finish the season 10-4.

Against Lakeland, Adam Kowalewski, Noah Fedak, O’Dell and Rutledge had individual wins for fourth seed Forest City.
