Snee earns Pro Bowl spot

CHRIS SNEE

New York Giants right guard, Chris Snee, a Montrose Area and Boston College graduate, has earned a spot of the 2013 NFC Pro Bowl team.

Snee, a part of the 8-7 Giants, will take the field along with teammates Victor Cruz and Jason Pierre-Paul, in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Sunday, Jan. 27, the week before Super Bowl XLVII.

This will be Snee’s fourth career Pro Bowl appearance in nine years on the Giants.

This season, Snee has started in all 15 games for the Giants and has started in 148 regular season and post season games at right guard.

He becomes the first Giant to be selected to four Pro Bowls since former teammate Jeremy Shockey was chosen in 2006.

Snee is also the first Giants offensive lineman to be selected so often since Rosie Brown, a Hall of Famer, was chosen to his ninth Pro Bowl in 1965.

In Snee’s nine seasons with the Giants, he has helped New York to a pair of Super Bowl championships.

The first came in 2007, with a 17-14 victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII. The second was in 2011, with a 21-17 win over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI.
