Meteor hockey drops three

The Montrose Area field hockey team faced a 2-1 loss at home to GAR on Saturday after the team took a 6-0 loss on the road to Pittston Area on Friday and a 3-1 loss to Hanover on the road on Tuesday.

Facing GAR, the game went scoreless into halftime before GAR struck twice in the second half to grab a 2-0 advantage over Montrose, and despite a goal from Nicole Kemmel with 2:08 left on the clock, Montrose took the loss.

The Meteors had five shots on goal and four corners while goalie Audra Everitt had 13 saves.

Against Pittston, the Patriots scored four first half goals and added a pair in the second to upend the Meteors.

Montrose took two shots on goal and had two corners while Everitt picked up a pair of saves.

On Tuesday, the Meteors got on the board first as Samantha Turner scored off an assist from Mayana Trecoske at 27:05.

However, Hanover scored three unanswered goals to take the victory.

Montrose had four shots on goal and one corner while Everitt picked up nine saves.
