Truck flips at Gibson exit ramp

A tractor trailer overturned Monday morning at about9 a.m.on the Interstate 81, Gibson exit ramp, shutting down the exit for about five hours.

The driver of the truck failed to negotiate the curve on the exit ramp; crashed through the barricades and flipped the vehicle over blocking the southbound I-81 entry ramp.

The vehicle was reportedly hauling liquid laundry detergent which spilled from the roof of the trailer.

A similar crash also happened at Exit 219 in the past week.

In the Nov. 4 crash, driver Rinaldo Pearson, 36,Buffalo,N.Y., sustained a minor injury when his tractor trailer overturned.

According to the police report, Pearson was traveling too fast to negotiate the exit ramp curve, crashed into the concrete barriers and his International Harvester flipped over also spilling its load.

Pearson was cited for driving too fast for conditions by Tpr. Robert Bauman Sr.
