Cocaine seized in traffic stop

State Police found 253 grams of cocaine during a traffic stop Jan. 13 on I-81 in Harford Twp.

Giovannia Butler, 26, of Passaic, N.J., was stopped for speeding at milemarker 214. In addition to Butler, there were two other occupants in the vehicle.

According to police, criminal indicators were present and police obtained consent to search the vehicle.

During the search, troopers located the cocaine in the trunk of the vehicle. Butler claimed ownership of the drugs and was taken into custody.

Butler was charged with felony count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance; and misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Butler was scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on Jan. 19.
