Bank robbery suspect sought

A man robbed the NBT Bank in Great Bend Twp. just before 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13. The bank is offering a reward to anyone with information that would lead to an arrest and conviction.
State Police have released photos of the suspect and suspect vehicle taken during the robbery at NBT Bank on SR 11 in Great Bend Township, Susquehanna County on 10-13-15. The suspect is described as a white male, 6’-6’2” tall with a stalky build and scruffy facial hair. He was wearing a black baseball cap, black sweatshirt, black pants and gloves. The suspect left the scene in a white four door passenger car bearing an unknown New York registration. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Pa State Police in Gibson at 570-465-3154.

Pennsylvania State Police, Gibson, are investigating the robbery of an NBT Bank branch in Great Bend Twp. on Tuesday (Oct. 13) afternoon.

According to police, the man walked into the bank, located on SR 11, wrote out a note demanding money and handed it to one of the tellers.

The suspect indicated he had a bomb and produced a soft-sided cooler that he threatened was a bomb. The bomb turned out to be a fake, according to police.

The man fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money and drove from the scene in a white, four-door sedan with New York plates and black rims.

The suspect is described as a white male, dressed in black and wearing a black baseball cap. He was about 6’2” tall, with blue eyes and unshaven facial hair.

PSP, Gibson was assisted at the scene by the FBI and the Scranton Police Bomb Unit.
