Montrose returns six starters

Montrose has six starters back — all seniors — from a team that scored 94 runs and allowed 69.

Andreas Mittmann was a coaches all-star after hitting .426 with nine extra-base hits and 14 RBIs.

“I think it starts with our six seniors that have been playing together since Little League,” Mittmann said. “We play really well together. And then we’ve got really good talent beneath us, too, and we’re like a family. We’ll do whatever it takes to win.”

Those other seniors are Kyle Watkins, Matt Benninger and Mike Vanness, who will play key roles in the starting rotation, and Nick Henry and Ethan Stankewicz.
Mountain View and Lackawanna Trail won’t let the Meteors run away with the division.

The Eagles lost some key pieces from last year, but have Chris White (7-2, 1.45 ERA, 69 K) back along with five other starters.

Cooper Rosiak and Liam Dougherty lead six starters back for the Lions, who scored a division-best 124 runs last season.

Susquehanna and Forest City both have eight starters back, while Elk Lake returns five starters.
