Gibson man faces extradition in assault

BY STACI WILSON

A Gibson man faces extradition from New York after he allegedly beat and pulled a gun on a woman April 22 in Gibson Twp.

Justin Jaffe, 25, was involved in an altercation with a 26-year-old female that became physical when police say he slapped her across the face and knocked her off a chair and onto the floor.

Jaffe allegedly jumped on the woman’s back, pushed her head into the floor. When she tried to yell for help, police reported that Jaffe covered her mouth with his hand. The victim bit him and police allege Jaffe tried to choke her.

The woman continued to fight back – kicking at him.

Jaffe then stood up, according to police, and pulled a small gun from behind his back and pointed it at her before fleeing the scene.

Pennsylvania State Police obtained a warrant for his arrest.

New York State Police apprehended Jaffe in Chenango Bridge, N.Y. Jaffe formerly resided in Chenango Bridge. He was housed in the Broome County, N.Y., jail awaiting extradition to Susquehanna County.
