A 75-year-old woman grabbed her shotgun and chased off a burglar from her home early Monday morning.

Carole Motsko, of Ararat Twp., was awaken from her sleep by banging noises in the downstairs of her May Rd. home at about 1:30 a.m. on March 24.
She dialed 9-1-1, then retrieved her shotgun.

An unknown, white male with a thin build confronted Motsko at the bottom of the stairs.

She yelled a warning to the man, and he fled from the residence with the elderly woman’s purse which contained money.

The investigation by Tpr. Alan Deutsch is continuing.
