Friendsville polling place changed

BY STACI WILSON

A heating fuel spill is forcing Friendsville Borough voters to cast their ballots at a new polling place on the coming Election Day.

The County Election Board approved on Oct. 23 a temporary polling place change – for the Nov. 5 election only – from St. Francis Xavier Hall in the borough to the Neumann Center building, located on Rt. 267 in Choconut Twp.
The change complies with American Disabilities Act regulations.

Commissioner Michael Giangrieco researched the election law and said that, according to code, if there is no place available within the election district, voting may take place in an adjacent voting district.

Hop Bottom voters are reminded to cast their ballots in the borough building.
