The Mountain View baseball team took an 11-8 victory over Elk Lake in Dimock in the Eagles’ season opener on Friday.

The Warriors got on the board first with a run in the second inning before Mountain View answered back with a pair of runs in the third to make it 2-1.

Elk Lake scored another pair of runs in the third to regain a 3-2 lead.

The game then went back and forth with Mountain View amassing a 11-6 lead by the top of the seventh.
Elk Lake threatened with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning, but Mountain View held on to win.

Brandon Hawm had two hits and three RBIs to lead Mountain View to a Division IV win.

Nate Goodenough, Zach Feduchak and Noah Pepper each doubled while Owen Flannery tripled.

Flannery was the winning pitcher, giving up four hits, four earned runs and a walk while striking out four in four innings of work.

Elk Lake was led by Pete McGee’s two hits, two RBIs and three runs scored.

Damian Dailey also doubled and scored a run for Elk Lake.

Forest City
The Forest City baseball team took a 6-3 victory over Susquehanna at home on Sunday afternoon.

The Foresters fell behind as Susquehanna took a 3-1 lead by the end of the third inning.

However, the Foresters used a five-run fifth inning to take the victory over the Sabers.

Matt hardman-Zimmerman delivered a two-run single and Adam Kowalewski followed with a two-run double to push the Foresters to the victory.

Jordan Hicks-Cook added two hits for Forest City and Blake Mitchell pitched four innings of one-hit, shutout relief, striking out seven to earn the win.

Christian Miller doubled and Austin Felter scored twice for the Sabers.

Susquehanna

The Susquehanna baseball team faced a 16-1 loss to Lackawanna Trail at Tunnel Hill on Thursday in its Lackawanna League season opener.

Against the Lions, the game ended in the third via the 15-run rule as the Lions scored 13 runs in the first inning and three more in the third.

Susquehanna’s lone run came in the third inning.

The team was led Miller, who had two singles, while Brinton drove in a run.

Felter took the pitching loss, giving up eight earned runs, three walks and five hits in one-third of an inning.
