An Oakland Borough woman, who along with her husband, is facing charges for allegedly dealing heroin from their home waived her preliminary hearing Monday in Montrose District Court.

Shawna Whritenour, 29, appeared before District Judge Jeffrey Hollister. Her $150,000 cash bail was reduced Monday to an unsecured amount. A formal arraignment was scheduled for July 31.

Steven Whritenour also waived his June 11 preliminary hearing in New Milford District Court. He is being held on $150,000 bail.

Both face felony possession and possession with intent to deliver charges charges, as well as a misdemeanor drug paraphernalia count. They also each face a felony count of criminal use of a communication facility for alleging using the cell phones to facilitate drug buys.

The couple was charged by Oakland police after state probation and parole officers discovered a large amount of heroin stashed in a box at theirState St.residence on May 31.

The box contained 13 bricks and four bundles of heroin.

District Attorney Jason Legg said the estimated street value of the drugs was about $15,000.

Parole officers stopped their search of the residence after they found the heroin and summoned the Oakland Police Dept.

According to the affidavit, police obtained a search warrant for the rest of the home and any vehicle owned by the Whritenours

In addition to the drugs, the search turned up nine syringes found near the box containing the heroin; $767 of assorted cash denominations; and three cell phones containing text messages used to do drug buys.

A handful of packaging material used to wrap the heroin in was found in a locked Chevy Impala, according to the complaint.

The Writenours were then taken into custody on a violation of their parole and probation.
