A South Montrose woman, formerly of Meshoppen, charged in connection with multiple burglaries in fiveSusuqehannaCountytownships between Thanksgiving and Jan. 1 waived her preliminary hearing in Clifford District Court on Tuesday.

Daniela Hollister, 35, was charged in March for her role in the burglary spree, along with her boyfriend Keith Canfield, of Montrose.

She faces 13 felony counts each of burglary, criminal trespass and theft by unlawful taking. She faces 15 counts of conspiracy to commit burglary and two counts of conspiracy to commit theft by unlawful taking.

A formal arraignment was scheduled for June 5 in Susquehanna County Court.

Hollister is being held in the Susquehanna County Correctional Facility on $10,000 bail.

Canfield, 42, faces 22 counts each of burglary and criminal trespass, 18 counts of theft by unlawful taking, 17 counts of conspiracy to commit burglary and two counts of corruption of minors. He is expected to appear for a preliminary hearing in front of District Judge Suzanne Brainard on May 29.

According to court documents, Canfield admitted their responsibility for the burglaries to state police.

Canfield told police Hollister had received money after her Meshoppen home had been flooded which she spent but then started to experience pain from withdrawal from using heroin.

Hollister, according to the affidavit, accompanied Canfield to almost every location that was burglarized, sometimes staying in the truck and sometimes going into the houses.

He noted that Hollister had gone with him on almost every location, sometimes staying in the truck and sometimes going in the houses.

On several of the break-ins, Hollister’s minor son also was present. The child, who has not been identified by age in the affidavit, allegedly took a bunch of video games and electrical items.

District Attorney Jason Legg said that the minor involved in at least two if the burglaries has also been charged through the county’s juvenile court system.

According to a court document filed January 2, Canfield was arrested January 1 for allegedly burglarizing a Harford Township residence.

Canfield appeared before Judge Brainard on single counts of burglary, criminal trespass and criminal attempt to commit burglary and they were bound over to county court on Feb. 14. However, his Feb. 28 arraignment date in that matter was cancelled.

Canfield told police that he would not allow his girlfriend to bring anything stolen into his house, and everything he took went immediately “to a guy who deals in stolen goods.”

The affidavit says that after Canfield and Hollister  took stuff, they “immediately traded it for money and then got heroin.”
