The Montrose baseball team took a 2-1 victory over the Western Wayne Wildcats to remain beaten at 10-0 at home on Thursday.

The Meteors rallied from a 1-0 deficit in the sixth inning to score in the bottom of the sixth and hold off the Wildcats and send the game into extra innings.

Matt Lewis cracked a one-out double to drive in Justin Hartman, who led off the eighth inning with a double, lifting the Meteors to a victory.

AfterWestern Waynetook the lead on an RBI single from Kevin Karabin in the sixth, Montrose responded with a run of its own as Lewis, who was hit by a pitch, scored on a suicide squeeze bunt by Casey O’Reilly.

Lewis finished with two hits for Montrose while winning pitcher Jared Winn yielded five hits, struck out eight and walked none.

Mountain View

TheMountain Viewbaseball team grabbed a 5-3 victory over Lackawanna Trail at home on Thursday afternoon.

The Lions got ahead with a pair of runs in the first inning, beforeMountain Viewwould make it 3-2 after the second.

Trail tied the game up at three apiece with a run in the top of the sixth, but Mountain View regained the lead with two more runs in the bottom of the sixth and held on to win.

Jim O’Brien and Zach Feduchak drove in runs in the sixth inning to lead the Eagles.

Joel Madas had two hits, including a two-run homer to help the team.

Dylan Thomas took the pitching win giving up 10 hits, two earned runs and a walk while

striking out 10 in seven innings.

Blue Ridge

TheBlue Ridgebaseball team grabbed an 11-1 victory over Susquehanna on the road on Thursday afternoon.

Jacob Roberts had three hits, including a double, and two RBIs to lead the Raiders.

Wes Ward went three-for-four and scored four runs forBlue Ridge.

Susquehanna scored its only run of the game in the bottom of the first before Blue Ridge knocked a run in the second, two in each of the fourth and fifth innings and six more in the seventh to take the win.

Riley Fekette was the winning pitcher giving up four hits, one earned run and one walk while striking out four in six innings.

Christian Miller had two hits, including a double for Susquehanna.

Forest City

ForestCity’s baseball team grabbed an 11-6 victory overElkLakeat home on Thursday afternoon.

The Foresters fell behind early asElkLakescored two runs in the top of the first, however,ForestCitycame back with five runs in the bottom of the inning to make it 5-2.

ElkLakeanswered back with two more runs in the second to bring the tally to 5-4, butForestCitypulled away with a run in the second, four more in the fifth and one in the sixth to bring the game to 11-4 going into the top of the seventh.

The Warriors plated two runners, but failed to overcome the deficit.

Alex Kresock had three hits and three RBIs to lead the Foresters while DeEsch took the pitching victory giving up five hits, two earned runs and a walk while striking out five in five innings.

Peter McGee homered forElkLakewhile Adam Phillips knocked a double and an RBI, Nick Dudock had three hits, including a double, and Ricky Guiton had a single and two RBIs.

Zack Canfield took the pitching loss giving up three hits, four earned runs and five walks while striking out three in two innings.

Susquehanna

The Susquehanna baseball team faced a 7-6 loss from Lackawanna Trail at home on Wednesday in eight innings.

Trail capitalized on some errors by the Sabers to score two runs in the eighth to take the victory.

Trail got an early 5-0 lead after the third inning, but Susquehanna scored five runs in the sixth inning to tie things up.

The Lions then scored two runs in the top of the eighth and despite threatening with a run in the bottom of the eighth, Susquehanna faced the loss.

Austin Cowperthwait hit a two-run home run for Susquehanna while Tom Maby doubled.

Maby took the pitching loss giving up four hits, one earned run and two walks while striking out a pair in three innings.
