Meteor tennis splits week

The Montrose Area boys’ tennis team took a 5-0 win overRiversideat home on Thursday after the team faced a 5-0 loss to Scranton Prep on the road on Wednesday evening.

On Thursday, Mike Roman, Bryan Shultz and Chris Jordan won their singles matches in straight sets to lead Montrose to a 5-0 win overRiversidein a Lackawanna Division II-III crossover.

Singles: Mike Roman over Irwin Maldanado, 6-0, 6-1; Bryan Shultz over Cody Mackin, 6-1, 6-1; Chris Jordan over Marc Lucas, 6-2, 6-0.

Doubles: Isaac Mitchell-Sean Regan over Dave Harris-Zach Kavulich, 6-0, 6-0; Zach Myer-Justin Parrish over Mat Lucas-Charlie Koytek, 6-3, 6-4.

Scranton Prep 5, Montrose 0

Singles: Will Cognetti over Mike Roman, 6-0, 6-0; Walker Temperton over Bryan Shultz, 6-0, 6-0; Keller McGurrin over Chris Jordan, 6-2, 6-1.

Doubles: Jay Patel-Alex Thomas over Isaac Mitchell-Sean Regan, 6-0, 6-4; Connor Fitzsimmons-Matt Hanahue over Justin Parrish-Kyle Watts, 6-0, 6-2.
