Sabers spike Blue Ridge

Zack Vaughn had 11 kills and Luke Falletta had 10 kills and two blocks to lead Susquehanna to a 3-1 win overBlue Ridgeon Wednesday in a Lackawanna League boys’ volleyball match held at Susquehanna.

Susquehanna took a 25-18 win in the first set beforeBlue Ridgecame back with a 25-23 win in the second to tie things up.

However, the Sabers won two straight sets, 25-22 and 25-23, to take the victory.

Kevin Bush had 14 points, eight aces and eight digs and Cody Dibble had 28 digs to help the Sabers.

Mike Gathany had five kills forBlue Ridgeand Tama Galu-Edgar had four kills.

Forest City

TheForestCityboys’ volleyball team faced a 3-0 loss toAbingtonHeightson the road on Thursday night after it grabbed a 3-1 victory overBlue Ridgeat home on Tuesday night.

On Thursday, Abington took an early lead on Thursday with a 25-16 win in the first set before winning two more in-a-row, 25-19 and 25-21, to seal the win.

Dylan Walsh had nine kills forForestCitywhile David Cavalieri had eight kills and JP Hernandez added eight assists.

On Tuesday, the Raiders tied the match at one apiece afterForestCitywon the first set, however, the Foresters won the third set, 27-25, and the fourth set, 25-22, to take the win.

Mountain View

TheMountain Viewboys’ volleyball team took a 3-2 victory overElkLakeon the road on Thursday after it was handed a 3-0 loss fromWestern Wayneon the road on Tuesday.

FacingElkLake, the Eagles took an early lead with a 30-28 win in the first set, before the Warriors came back with a 25-22 win in the second to tie things up.

The Eagles then regained the lead with a 25-19 win in the third, before the Warriors again battled back with a 25-14 win in the fourth set to make it 2-2.

However, the Eagles gutted out the win with a 15-11 victory in the final set.

Brad Owens had 20 kills, 16 digs and three blocks while Michael Lamberson added 15 kills and 12 digs. Nathan Moyer contributed 43 assists while Gary Smith had eight kills.

LeadingElkLakewas Dan Noldy with 27 digs, 17 service points and three blocks while Aric Curry had eight kills and three blocks.

AgainstWestern Wayne, the Eagles fell down in order, 25-7, 25-20 and 25-21 to take the loss to the Wildcats in Lackawanna League action.

Owens paced the Eagles with 11 kills, one blocks and six digs while Moyer added 15 assists in the loss.
