Warriors go 2-1 in hockey

TheElkLakefield hockey team picked up a 1-0 win over Tunkhannock Area on Friday and a 4-1 win at GAR on Thursday after the team was defeated 5-1 by Northwest Area on the road on Wednesday.

Facing Tunkhannock Area, the Warriors were lifted by a goal from CJ Bevan with7:06left to play in the game. Dylan Simmons assisted.

The Warriors had six shots on goal while Tunkhannock had four shots. EL goalie Luke Myers and Tunkhannock goalie Tara Hartman each had four saves on the day.

Against GAR, Trevor Gowin scored two goals to leadElkLakewhile Simmons and Sabrina Clarke each knocked in a goal in the victory.

On Wednesday,ElkLakeheld the Rangers to one goal in the first half as Colleen McCoy found the cage at7:14.

However, four second half goals from Northwest doomed the Warriors, as the Warriors only connected once off a Simmons goal at13:47.

ElkLakehad five shots on goal and three corners while Myers had seven saves on the day.
