Blue Ridge placed five runners in the top 25 to total 82 points and capture the boys varsity team title Saturday at the 18th annual Lackawanna County Commissioners Invitational atMcDadeParkinScranton.

“The kids ran their hearts out today,”Blue Ridgefirst-year head coach Sam Folk said in the telephone interview. “They were focused and wanted to send a message and they did.”

“Our team has become a family. We have each other’s backs and we use that in the race,” Hinkley said in a telephone interview. “We went into the race not saying ‘We hope,’ but saying ‘We are’ and did what we had to do. We want to do great things this year.”
