The Lackawanna County Coroner this morning said a 48-year-old woman from Clifford Twp. was killed Monday on Interstate 380 when her SUV flipped while traveling north near the Gouldsboro exit.

Martha Peterka, 5849 State Route 2012, was pronounced dead of multiple traumatic injuries at the scene by Lackawanna County Coroner Tim Rowland.

The crash happened just before 3 p.m. when Ms. Peterka’s Nissan Pathfinder left the highway, drove onto a berm and across an embankment. The SUV then swerved back onto 380 and overturned, police said.

Lackawanna County Coroner Tim Rowland said Peterka was ejected from the vehicle and was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
