The Susquehanna boys’ volleyball team grabbed a 3-0 victory over Blue Ridge on Tuesday evening.

In the first game, Susquehanna took a 25-21 victory over the Raiders before defeating them 25-21 in the second game to hold a 2-0 lead.

Susquehanna then capped off the victory with a 25-17 win in the final set of the evening.

Alex Price had five kills, eight digs and 14 points and Taylor Cundey had eight kills and five digs for the Sabers.

Will Dolph added five aces and 11 points and Mike Frye had 19 assists for Susquehanna.

Troy Carey had nine assists and two aces, Mike Gathany had four kills and two blocks and Taylor Carlsen had two aces for Blue Ridge.

Forest City

Forest City’s boys’ volleyball team picked up a 3-0 win over Elk Lake at home on Tuesday evening.

The Foresters grabbed an early lead with a 25-15 win in the first game, before taking the win with a 25-17 win in the second game and a 25-16 win in the third.

Dylan Walsh had eight kills and Chad Paulin had 12 assists and five kills to lead the Foresters. David Cavalieri chipped in with six kills and four blocks for the Foresters.

Mark Smurkowski had seven kills and two aces and Bo Bushnell had 10 digs and three blocks to pace the Warriors.

Mountain View

Mountain View’s boys’ volleyball team fell to 2-5 on the season as Lackawanna Trail (6-1) and Western Wayne (4-1) each handed the Eagles 3-1 losses in Lackawanna League matchups.

In a home match on Thursday, Trail fell behind 1-0 after the first set as the Eagles outscored them 25-20.

However, the Lions took three consecutive wins, 25-23, 25-18 and 25-17 to top the Eagles.

Chuck Cross had 10 kills and seven digs for Mountain View while Brad Owens added seven kills and 10 digs and Nathan Moyer had 24 assists and seven digs.

At home on Tuesday, the Eagles fell behind early as Western Wayne snagged a pair of victories in the first two sets, 25-22 and 25-14, however, battled back to make it 2-1 with a 25-21 win in the third set.

Western Wayne was then able to take a win in the fourth game, 25-23, to cap off the victory over Mountain View.

Cross had 12 kills and 10 digs, Owens had 10 kills and 11 digs and Moyer had 30 assists and three aces for Mountain View.

Blue Ridge

The Blue Ridge boys’ volleyball team was handed a 3-0 loss from Western Wayne on the road on Thursday evening.

Western Wayne took two consecutive 25-11 wins in the first two sets before finishing off the Raiders with a 27-25 win in the final set.

Mike Gathany had five kills and one block while Matt Principe had six assists and two kills for the Raiders.
