Elk Lake’s boys’ track and field team took second place while the girls took fourth at the Molly Dry Invitational at Mansfield University on Saturday.

The boys’ team had 89 points, finishing behind Waverly in first with 109, while Elk Lake’s girls had 61 points as Wellsboro took first with 100 points.

Elk Lake’s Brad Moore finished first overall in the 400 at 53.37 and took third in the 100 at 12.00, the 3200 relay team of Mike Bedell, Will Bennett, Bryan Grosvenor and Jason Vermeulen placed first at 8:17.78 and Bedell took first place overall in the 1600 at 4:29.57.

The 1600 relay team of Moore, Bedell, Bennett and Grosvenor finished second at 3:35.29, four seconds behind Waverly, Bob Benscoter took second in the discus at 123-00.50 and placed sixth in the shot put at 38-03.

Joe Woolcock placed third overall in the triple jump at 38-06 and took fifth in the long jump at 18-09 and Mark Bush placed third in the shot put at 42-04 and discus at 122-11.50

Trevor Gowin took fourth in the 110 hurdles at 18.21, Luke Jones took fourth in the 3200 at 1:00.05 and Vermeulen took fourth in the high jump at 5-06 and finished ninth in the long jump at 17-04.50.

Bennett finished in fifth in the 800 with a time of 2:05.42.

Jeremy Schwartzstrauber took sixth overall in the high jump at 5-04 and placed sixth in the pole vault at 11-00.

Thurn Thanormthin took 10th in the 400 at 57.28.

On the girls’ side Elk Lake’s 3200 relay team of Lainey Bedell, Elizabeth Trowbridge, Maria Trowbridge at Emily Williams took first at 10:14.81 ahead of Wellsboro at 10:33.87.

M. Trowbridge was second overall in the 1600 meters at 5:29.56, behind North Penn’s Susan Learn at 5:28.56. Kelsey Hermick took second in the 400 at 1:02.15,

Cassie VanEtten was third in the 400 at 1:02.69, the 1600 relay team of Hermick, Kirsten Hollister, VanEtten and M. Trowbridge finished third at 4:21.40 behind Waverly in first at 4:13.79 and E. Trowbridge finished third in the 800 at 2:32.00

Megan Bush placed fourth in the discus at 81-04.50 and also took sixth overall in the shot put at 29-00.75.

Hollister took fifth in the 100 at 13.69 and finished sixth in the 200 at 28.44.

Cindy Good finished in sixth in the 100 meter hurdles at 18.50, took 10th overall in the 300 hurdles at 56.78 and finished sixth in the high jump at 4-04 and Carley Bennett took sixth overall in the 300 hurdles at 54.97.

Abby Zdancewicz took seventh in the 1600 at 5:50.92 and Williams took ninth in the 800 at 2:41.09.
