Forest<\/strong> <\/strong>City<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Forest City boys\u2019 soccer team faced its first loss of the season to Carbondale on Friday, 4-2, after it took a 5-0 shutout win over Old Forge in a home game on Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n

On Friday, Carbondale scored first only 20 seconds into the first half, before Forest City\u2019s David Cavalieri knocked in a goal at 26:45 to even the score at one apiece.<\/p>\n

In the second half, Carbondale scored a 48:18 and 57:26 to make it a 3-1 game, however, Cavalieri would score with an assist from Ryan Long at 61:40 to make it 3-2.<\/p>\n

But, Carbondale proved stronger as they scored again at 68:59 to take the 4-2 win.<\/p>\n

Forest City had 10 shots on goal and nine corners while goalie Zack Sosnowski picked up 10 saves.<\/p>\n

Facing Old Forge in the first half, Cavalieri scored a goal with an assist from Mitchell Goben at 3:25 before Long would add a second goal with an assist from Cavalieri at 38:29 to make it 2-0.<\/p>\n

In the second half Cavalieri scored at 41:09 before Kevin Swartz would add a fourth Forester goal at 55:31.<\/p>\n

Wayde Loomis capped off the Forester victory at 61:24.<\/p>\n

Forest City had 21 shots on goal and two corners while Sosnowski had eight saves.<\/p>\n

Elk<\/strong> <\/strong>Lake<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Elk Lake boys\u2019 soccer team tied a game with Valley view on Saturday as the team\u2019s battled through two overtimes to a 1-1 stalemate.<\/p>\n

Elk Lake took a double-overtime win at home over St. Gregory\u2019s a day prior, 2-1.<\/p>\n

Against Valley View, scoring was silent in the first half before the Warriors scored at 40 minutes in the second half with an unassisted goal from Cody Fransen.<\/p>\n

Valley View\u2019s Brandon Jackson then tied up the game at 64 minutes to send it into overtime where neither team would score through two extra periods.<\/p>\n

Elk Lake had seven shots on goal and three corners while goalie Nick Dudock had 10 saves in the net.<\/p>\n

On Friday, Elk Lake\u2019s Joe Woolcock put the Warriors on the board with a goal at 28:55 in the first half.<\/p>\n

The game then went silent until St. Gregory\u2019s scored at 76:51 in the second half to tie the game up.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s where a double-overtime goal from Warrior Thurn Thanomthin with an assist from Tory Newhart propelled Elk Lake to victory.<\/p>\n

The warriors had 23 shots on goal and two corners while Dudock had 14 saves.<\/p>\n

Blue Ridge<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n

Blue Ridge\u2019s boys\u2019 soccer team played to a 0-0 tie at Riverside on Tuesday afternoon after two scoreless overtime periods.<\/p>\n

Mountain View<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n

Mountain View\u2019s boys\u2019 soccer team took a 3-2 loss from Honesdale on Saturday after it faced a 4-1 loss to Abington Heights at home on Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, Honesdale scored first at 11:06, before Mountain View\u2019s Joe Jarrow scored with an assist from Colby Mikioche at 13:41.<\/p>\n

Honsdale took back the lead at 29:09 in the first to make it 2-1 at halftime.<\/p>\n

In the second half, Mountain View tied things up with a goal from Dylan Thomas at 48:32, but Honesdale struck at 55:39 to take the win.<\/p>\n

Mountain View had six shots on goal and four corners while goalie Chris Herman picked up two saves.<\/p>\n

Abington struck first at 27:56 in the first half, before Mountain View held the Comets scoreless through the rest of the half.<\/p>\n

Mountain View\u2019s Colby Thomas tied the game up at 51:32 in the second half with an assist from D. Thomas.<\/p>\n

However, Abington scored three consecutive unanswered goals at 54:35, 69:30 and 76:53 to cap off the victory.<\/p>\n

Mountain View had 11 shots on goal and three corners while Hermann had 22 saves.<\/p>\n

Montrose<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Montrose boys\u2019 soccer team defeated West Scranton on the road Thursday, 3-2, in overtime after it took a 1-0 loss at St. Gregory\u2019s on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Facing West Scranton, the Invaders got on the board first with a first half goal at 7:47, before Montrose\u2019s Ryan Ochse would score off an assist from Cory Adams at 15:32 to make it a 1-1 game.<\/p>\n

West Scranton pulled ahead again with a goal off a penalty kick at 18:05 in the first half.<\/p>\n

Montrose\u2019s Mike Mard then tied up the game with a goal at 34:02 in the first half with an assist from Danny Simonds to make it 2-2 at halftime.<\/p>\n

After the second half went scoreless, the game went into overtime, where Simonds knocked in an unassisted goal to lift the Meteors to the win.<\/p>\n

Montrose had 17 shots on goal and seven corners while Simonds had two saves on goal.<\/p>\n

St. Gregory\u2019s scored a 39:05 in the first half, and the team held Montrose scoreless throughout the rest of the game.<\/p>\n
