A ceremony to remember the lives of those lost on Sept. 11, 2001, will take place at the Spirit of 9\/11 Danny Crisman Memorial Park, Ridge Road, South Montrose, at 6 p.m.<\/p>\n
There will be prayer, music and the insight of select Guest Speaker Mr. Wesley Wong, Senior FBI on-scene Commander at World Trade Center, Ground Zero on 9\/11.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Those gathered will also remember the lives of our Soldiers, especially those of the 1st Battalion, 109th Infantry, Pennsylvania Army National Guard, New Milford; Marines, Sailors and Airmen lost in the “Global War on Terror” in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other areas of the world.<\/p>\n
\u00a0September 11, 2001 forever changed the world for all Americans. The United States of America remains one of the most desirable places on this earth to live; not for our oceans and plains; not for our mountains and rivers, but for our freedom.<\/p>\n
\u00a0In the days after Sept. 11, Americans were left to console the inconsolable. In the weeks after Sept. 11, we tried to explain the unexplainable. In the months after Sept. 11, we tried to make sense out of the senseless. And even today nine years after Sept. 11, we strive to find hope in the moments of hopelessness that still haunt us.<\/p>\n
\u00a0We are mindful, too-and resolute that their deaths, like their lives, shall have meaning. And that the birthright of human freedom-a birthright that was theirs as Americans and for which they died-will always be ours and our children’s. And through their deaths, our efforts and example, one day freedom will be the birthright of every man, woman and child on earth.<\/p>\n
