A Montrose man charged in the July 21 collision that claimed a woman\u2019s life waived his preliminary hearing Monday, Dec. 21, in Montrose District Court.<\/p>\n

Michael Argust, 33, is charged with homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, homicide by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter, driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and related counts in the wreck, which killed Anne Gober, 45, of Wyoming.<\/p>\n

According to court documents, Argust had morphine in his system when the wreck happened.<\/p>\n

At the time of the fatal North Road, Bridgewater Twp. crash, Argust was traveling south when his vehicle crossed into the northbound lane and struck Gober\u2019s vehicle head-on.<\/p>\n

Police reported that they observed four or five plastic hypodermic needles in the glove box of Argust\u2019s car on the scene. Police searched both vehicles in the days that follow the crash and seized nine hypodermic needles from Argust\u2019s car.<\/p>\n

Gober was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy indicated Gober died of multiple traumatic injuries caused by the collision.<\/p>\n

Argust was present at the District Court office in Montrose Monday afternoon. He arrived for the hearing in a wheelchair.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
