Boy Scout Kyle Bonavita was recognized Monday, Nov. 9, for advancing three ranks in one year in boy scouts at Troop 154’s Court of Honor Monday at the American Legion in Elk Lake.<\/p>\n

Joining at the start of the school year in 2014, Kyle earned his Tenderfoot and Second class ranks in November, and First Class in July.<\/p>\n

“You’re going to be getting your Eagle without any problem if you keep up this pace,” said Scoutmaster Jim Borosh.<\/p>\n

Truman Ely advanced to Scout rank, and Riley Teel to Second Class.<\/p>\n

Jonas Fuller, who will be the troop’s next Eagle Scout, led the court of honor as part of his Communications merit badge. He has two badges left to earn before attaining the Eagle Scout rank, and his project of constructing a gazebo at the American Legion is well underway.<\/p>\n

Earning merit badges were Bonavita, Fuller, Griffin Arnold, Will Arnold, Caleb Ely, Jared Ely, Truman Ely, Jonas Fuller, Will Farnelli, Brandon Gibbons, John Jones, Tristan Jones, Griffin Kasson, Willie Rudzianski, Malcolm Staff, Noah Staff, Joe Swart, Riley Teel, Jarrett Tyler, and John Tyler.<\/p>\n

The troop earned about 80 merit badges since the last court of honor held a year ago. The scouts earned an average of four merit badges each.<\/p>\n

The troop is helping the Bonavita family with a ham dinner fundraiser for medical expenses, to be held on Sunday, Nov. 22 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Elk Lake cafeteria and gym.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
