In an effort to address the lack of affordable housing in Susquehanna County, Trehab developed the Meadows at Tiffany Pines in Bridgewater Twp. Rentals at the 40-unit townhouse complex on McCollum Rd. began in December 2014; with tenants taking up residence in January.<\/p>\n

At a ribbon cutting event held Friday, County Commissioner MaryAnn Warren -who also sits on the Trehab board \u2013 said she was happy to see the project come together, adding that she was \u201csad we didn\u2019t double (the size), it filled so quickly.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fellow board member and former county commissioner Gary Marcho echoed Warren\u2019s sentiments. \u201cThis is an organization I\u2019m proud to be involved with,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Gary Baker of the state\u2019s Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) said, \u201cAs a department, we work with Trehab on a number of different levels and projects and commend Trehab and its staff. The projects are outstanding and first rate.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nick Troutman, of State Sen. Gene Yaw\u2019s office, commended the project. \u201cSafe, quality housing should not be a dream for the residents of our region, this should be the reality.\u201d<\/p>\n

Several residents also attended the event. One couple sold their home and moved to Tiffany Pines in January. \u201cWe\u2019ve felt more than welcomed here,\u201d Gene said. \u201cEverything is top notch. I thank all of you for putting all this together, we love it here.\u201d<\/p>\n

The $11,000,000 development was funded by RBC Investors through the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency. It was also designed to meet the PHFA\u2019s Green Building Criteria and includes a solar, renewable system. The homes are hooked onto natural gas and the buildings are energy efficient.
