A feature of Susquehanna Hometown Days celebration was the Susquehanna’s Teen Idol Talent Show, held on Thursday evening, July 16, sponsored by Lakey’s. Contestants ranged in age from five years old to 18 and drew a large crowd of friends and relatives in support of their favorite act.<\/p>\n

Winners in the age 5 to 9 year old performers were: 1st place, Madeline Schell; 2nd place, Mady Bishop; 3rd place Evelyn Soules. In the 10 to 14 age group the winners were: Carlton Smith, Joeslyn Conklin and Jordan Williams. Brooke Marvin and Lindsey Morz walked away with the 15 to 18 year old honors.<\/p>\n

Kailye Towner, Kay Smith and Julia Schell were declared Grand Champions.<\/p>\n

Bill Flynn of Cool 106.7 was also a feature on Thursday evening. On Wednesday evening there was a live broadcast from Froggy 101.<\/p>\n

The parade was held on Friday evening with “Chip” Snyder as Grand Marshall. Trophies were awarded to those judged the best appearing floats and fire company equipment by a team of judges.<\/p>\n

The second annual Hometown Days 5K Run\/Walk was held Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

The grand finale to the four day celebration was the late evening spectacular fireworks display sponsored by Ron and Carol Dubas.<\/p>\n

Members of the Susquehanna Community Development Association organize this annual event that not only brings out residents of the three boroughs but also many of the surrounding communities to support organizations who supply a variety of foods and offer many games of chance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
