The Elk Lake and Montrose softball teams squared off twice during opening week, splitting the wins on the field.<\/p>\n

The first game was played at Montrose on Thursday, April 16. The Lady Warriors held a 3-2 lead going into the 7th inning.<\/p>\n

Trailing by three runs, Montrose catcher Anastasia Hester came to bat and hit a three RBI triple on a 12 pitch at bat to tie the game. She then scored the winning run on a single hit from Katie Warner, who was credited with the winning RBI.<\/p>\n

Elk Lake\u2019s Whitney Tyler and Rose Warner both had two hits on four at bats. Darci Warner had 2 hits and 3 RBI\u2019s. Catey McAleer had three hits, scored three runs, and an unassisted double play at third base.<\/p>\n

Lacy Nealy and Hester each had three hits. Alana Jerauld had two hits, including a double for Montrose.<\/p>\n

Nealy pitched the entire game for Montrose and claimed the win. She had 4 strike outs, 10 hits, 0 walks and allowed 5 runs.<\/p>\n

Amanda Mowry pitched 6 innings for Elk Lake, had 5 strike outs, 9 hits, 0 walks, and allowed 4 runs. Whitney Tyler pitched 1\/3 of an inning. She had 0 strikes outs, 3 hits, 0 walks, and allowed 2 runs.<\/p>\n

The results differed in Saturday\u2019s game at Elk Lake.<\/p>\n

Hailey Rapisardi scored the first run of the game for Montrose in the third on an RBI single by Nealy.<\/p>\n

The Lady Warriors answered and took the lead which they would retain for the remainder of the game. Tyler, Bethany Ruhf, and McAleer all scored to give the Lady Warriors a two-run lead.<\/p>\n

Tyler got on base with a single. Ruhf reached base on a throwing error. McAleer drew a walk and loaded the bases. Darci Warner was walked and scored Tyler.
\nRose Warner hit a single and earned two RBIs when Ruhf and McAleer scored.<\/p>\n

In the fourth inning, Katie Warner scored for Montrose with an RBI single by Maddie Guinane to bring the score within one run of Elk Lake.<\/p>\n

Fielding errors by Montrose in the sixth allowed the Lady Warriors to place runners on the bases and score seven runs.<\/p>\n

Tyler doubled for an RBI; and McAleer\u2019s single brought in two more. She crossed the plate on a single by Becca Phillips hit a single and earned the RBI when McAleer crossed home plate.<\/p>\n

Elk Lake\u2019s Emily Kasson came to bat for the second time in the inning, with an RBI single.<\/p>\n

The Lady Warriors took a 10-2 victory over the Lady Meteors.<\/p>\n

Whitney Tyler pitched the entire game for Elk Lake. She had 7 strike outs, 5 hits, 0 walks, and allowed two runs; both earned.<\/p>\n

Lacy Nealy pitched for Montrose. She had 4 strike outs, 13 hits, 3 walks, and allowed 10 runs; five earned.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
