Blue Ridge High School Theatre will bring the beloved Rodgers & Hammerstein\u2019s musical, \u201cCinderella\u201d to the stage this weekend.<\/p>\n

The show will be held in the Blue Ridge High School auditorium, Saturday, April 25 at 7 p.m., and Sunday, April 26, at 2 p.m.<\/p>\n

Tickets are available at the door and are $7 for adults; $5 for students and seniors; or a family price of $20.<\/p>\n

High school chorus teacher and show director Amy Zakarauskas said the costumes, sets and backdrops for Cinderella are the most elaborate ones used since she\u2019s been in the district.<\/p>\n

Zakarauskas said, \u201cThere are many seniors in the cast that have been with me since they were in the sixth grade. Seeing them grow and develop over the years has been amazing. They\u2019ve been lovely to work with.\u201d<\/p>\n

The show stars senior Julia Stanley as Cinderella; with Allan Weed as Prince Charming and Faith Galu as the fairy godmother.<\/p>\n

Stanley, who last year portrayed the drunken Miss Hannigan in \u201cAnnie,\u201d said taking a turn as a fairy tale princess has been fun.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a less difficult role than I\u2019ve usually been cast as. It\u2019s been fun being a princess and the center of attention,\u201d Stanley quipped.<\/p>\n

Rounding out the royal cast are juniors Zach Morris as the king; Lexi Button as the queen; and Sierra Marriot as the king\u2019s herald and squire.<\/p>\n

Senior Caroline Bartkus takes on the role of the wicked stepmother, supported by junior Autumn Holgate and sophomore Skylar Secord as Cinderella\u2019s ugly stepsisters.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
