A Dunkin\u2019 Donuts could soon be under construction in the Montrose area.<\/p>\n

The Susquehanna County Planning Commission gave conditional preliminary approval Tuesday, March 31, to Double Eagle LLC for the commercial development of a Dunkin\u2019 Donuts to be located on a property on State Route 706, in Bridgewater Twp.<\/p>\n

The building will be situated on land owned by Mark and Debra Andre, Scott and Laura Andre on Grow Avenue. The motel, Inn at Montrose, is also situated on the property and previously was the location of another restaurant business.<\/p>\n

The developer plans to build a 40\u2019x55\u2019 store, with a drive-thru lane and parking spaces.<\/p>\n

In February, Double Eagle LLC also received preliminary approval to build a Dunkin\u2019 Donuts at the Gibson exit, off Interstate 81 in New Milford Twp.<\/p>\n

Another restaurant development \u2013 this one in Hallstead Borough – also received conditional preliminary approval by the planning commission.<\/p>\n

The restaurant will be located at 471 Main Street, with owners Emmanuel and Margarethe Javeliana planning to convert the existing home into an eatery.<\/p>\n

Conditional preliminary approval was also granted to Angelina Gathering Company LLC for an industrial development in Oakland Twp.<\/p>\n

The site, along SR 1023 off Oak Hill Road, will be developed as a natural gas compressor station utilized to move natural gas from Southwestern Energy wills to the compressors station along the Bluestone Pipeline in Harmony Twp.<\/p>\n

Angelina Gathering plans to erect two buildings, with each building housing six compressor engines.<\/p>\n

According to the planning commission, the site meets the county ordinance requirements for setbacks from property lines, residential structures and bodies of water.<\/p>\n

Two major subdivision plans received preliminary and final approval:
\n*Barbara Sechrist (estate) in Forest Lake Twp.
\n*Thaddeus and Gina Yarrish in Gibson Twp.<\/p>\n

The planning commission also reviewed a letter received from Gibson Twp. residents regarding a shooting range located on State Route 92.<\/p>\n

The letter, read aloud at the meeting, cited numerous complaints about gunfire and safety concerns.<\/p>\n

After some discussion of the complaint, planning commission members were in agreement that they did not have any jurisdiction to regulate the type of use on a property, explaining property use would be a zoning matter. Gibson Twp. does not have a zoning ordinance.<\/p>\n
