School director races are heating up in some school districts with newcomers issuing challenges to board incumbents.<\/p>\n

Blue Ridge<\/strong>
\nThree of the five Blue Ridge school director incumbents are facing challenges for their places on the board.<\/p>\n

In Region 1, incumbent Harold Empett is facing a challenge from John Leigh McArthur. Both candidates filed petitions to appear on both the Democratic and Republican primary ballots.<\/p>\n

In Region 2B, Edward Andrew Arnold will appear as a candidate on the Republican primary ballot. Incumbent Laurie Brown-Bonner filed her candidacy petitions to appear on the both party\u2019s primary election ballot.<\/p>\n

Region 3A school director Michael Detwiler is seeking reelection on the Democratic ticket. He will be challenged on the primary ballot by Brooke M. Slocum. Slocum filed to appear on both the Democratic and Republican ballots.<\/p>\n

Montrose<\/strong>
\nFour candidates are squaring off on both primary ballots for two Montrose Region 2 seats: Gregory Sheer Jr., Madeline Arnold, Karen Leigh Dubofsky and Doug Wilcox.<\/p>\n

Of those, Wilcox is an elected incumbent; Sheer was appointed to the board in 2014, filling the position vacated by Chris Caterson.<\/p>\n

Richard Matthew Jordan seeks reelection to a two-year seat in Region 2.<\/p>\n

In Region 3, Kathleen P. Mordovancey and Mary Homan are seeking re-election. Paul Adams is also seeking election to his first term as a Region 3 representative. All three candidates will appear on both ballots.<\/p>\n

In Region 1, Amy Jo Lyden is running on the the Republican and Democratic ballots, challenging incumbent Pamela D. Staats, who is running on the Demcratic ticket.<\/p>\n

Mountain View<\/strong>
\nTwo candidates are challenging incumbent board member Thomas Stoddard in the Mountain View Region 2A race in the Republican primary, Kenneth E. Decker and Duane Albert Marbaker Jr.<\/p>\n

Stoddard and Decker will also square off on the Democratic ticket.<\/p>\n

Elk Lake<\/strong>
\nIn Elk Lake Region 6, Abigail R. Jones and Rachelle Shaulis will face off in the Republican primary. No candidate names appear on the Democratic ballot in Region 6.<\/p>\n

In Region 7, incumbent Alice Carr is being challenged by John Charles Pierson on both the Democratic and Republican primary ballots.<\/p>\n

Forest City Regional<\/strong>
\nForest City Region 7 incumbent Joanne M. Sterchak is facing a challenge from Michael M. Ondrako on the Democratic ballot.<\/p>\n

Sterchak is running unopposed on the Republican ballot.<\/p>\n

\nDemocrat: Chuck Bullock, MaryAnn Warren, Julanne Z. Skinner.<\/p>\n

Republican: Alan M. Hall, Frank J. Pinkowski, Michael L. Redding, Elizabeth Betsy Arnold, Edna Paskoff.<\/p>\n

\nDemocrat: Susan M. Jennings
\nRepublican: George P. Starzec, Richard A. Suraci.<\/p>\n

Register\/Recorder<\/strong>
\nDemocrat: Thomas R. Charles
\nRepublican: Teri M. Gulick, Brian W. O\u2019Connor, Wendy Zapolski, Michelle Estabrook.<\/p>\n

District Attorney<\/strong>
