\"Elk<\/a>

Elk Lake High School took the Most Creative award for their depiction of Charlie Brown, Lucy and Snoopy\u2019s doghouse.<\/p><\/div>\n

Three area schools competed in this year\u2019s canned food sculpture contest \u2013 part of Trehab\u2019s annual Feed a Friend Thanksgiving program. Mountain View and Elk Lake high school, and Mountain View Elementary participated in the contest.<\/p>\n

This year entrants were given the theme: \u201cA Charlie Brown Thanksgiving\u201d and challenged to interpret that into a work of art with non-perishable food donations.<\/p>\n

The Best in Show award went to Mountain View High School; Most Creative went to Elk Lake; and Best Thanksgiving theme went to Mountain View Elementary.<\/p>\n

In addition to the donated food items, Mountain View Principal Robert Presley presented Trehab with a $1,000 donation from the Mountain View faculty.<\/p>\n

Edlyn Flannery, of Trehab, said the Feed A Friend program costs about $19,000. Most of that cost comes from the purchase of the Thanksgiving turkeys. Last year, the Feed A Friend program<\/p>\n

\"Woodstock<\/a>

Woodstock was made into the Thanksgiving turkey by Mountain View Elementary student council members.<\/p><\/div>\n

served 856 households from the Susquehanna and Montrose food banks. \u201cThis will help pay for a lot,\u201d Flannery said. \u201cWe thank you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Blue Ridge, Montrose and Susquehanna school districts also held food drives for the program.<\/p>\n

\"Mountain<\/a>

Mountain View\u2019s student government earned a Best in Show with their sculpture of Schroeder and his piano, along with a Christmas tree of cans.<\/p><\/div>\n
