Princess Whatshername (Haley Skinner) stumbles in and out of fairy tales, including a meeting with the Seven Dwarves in Elk Lake\u2019s production that hits the stage Friday and Saturday.<\/p><\/div>\n

A confused young woman, who may be a princess, sets out on a quest to find her story in \u201cPrincess Whatsername,\u201d a slightly askew, musical fairy tale set in a misty forest.
\nThe show, written by Brian D. Taylor with music by Bill Francoer and lyrics by Scott DeTurk will be staged Friday and Saturday nights at Elk Lake High School.
\nAn unnamed amnesiac girl (Haley Skinner) is found sleeping alone in the forest by Hansel and Gretel (George Sobeck and Allison Hewitt. She stumbles in and out of several fairy tales, including Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Cinderella and Rapunzel, to name a few.
\nSome of the Grimm characters are helpful, some are dangerous, and some are just plain weird, but each has information to help this young lady eventually realize her true identity as a princess.
\nAs you might expect, there\u2019s also a prince seeking the lost princess: Prince Reveille, played by Kevin Burns. He is desperate to find his princess, but he\u2019s always one step behind, and inadvertently rescues and wins the hearts of all the wrong princesses.
\nThe plot has a lot of brooding darkness and violence replaced by gallantry and silliness.
\nDirector Ina Bradish said, \u201cThis musical has a variety of musical numbers, from rap to jazz to Broadway musical, and has a huge cast with tons of exciting and hilarious roles for kids to play.\u201d She added, \u201cFairy tales have always been popular plots for our school musicals.\u201d
\nThe cast also includes: Rumpelstiltskin: Kyler DeGrote; Prince Hercules: Travis Tewksbury; Steward: Nick Smith; Bear: Colin Schake; King of the South: Chris Kinder; Prince Adonis: Will Farnelli; Prince Swavay: Justin Grosvenor: Giddy Dwarf: Troy Rought; Nosy Dwarf: Aaron Oakley; Rowdy Dwarf: Jason Boyer; Whiny Dwarf: Tonnelle Bradish; Hippie Dwarf: Matthew Orr; Guilty Dwarf: Sam Burns; Flighty Dwarf: Tadzi Trowbridge; Tiny Bear: Gabe Spila: Forest Witch: Brynn DeLong; Goldilocks: Natalie Newhart: Snow White: Madeline Spila: Queen of the West: Makayla Davis; Fairy Godmother: Reilly Shingler; Cinderella: Cydney DeWitt: Rapunzel: Rachel Zayleskie; Queen of the North: Miranda Warner; Nurse: Caitlyn Brown; Queen of the South: Amelia Comly; Good Fairy #1: Taylah Culver; Good Fairy #2: Cheyanne Krauss; Good Fairy #3: Dana Nunemacher; Evil Fairy: Sarah Cobb; and Big Bear: Rachel Farnelli.
\nThe play is directed by Ina Bradish and the assistant director is Rita Spila. Melanie Transue is lights, sound and set crew director. Musical direction by Tanya Boatman and Kathleen Amabile.
