Defense was the name of the game Saturday afternoon for Susquehanna.<\/p>\n

The Sabers held Holy Redeemer to only 89 total yards of offense, winning, 13-0, in a nonleague game at Wilkes-Barre Memorial Stadium.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe came into the football game with an outstanding defensive game plan,\u201d Sabers coach Kyle Cook said. \u201cI am pleased at the way we were able to limit Holy Redeemer offensively.\u201d<\/p>\n

Both teams exchanged a series of punts to start the game, but the Sabers (1-0 LFC Division III, 4-2 overall) were able to take advantage of good field position and march 50 yards in six plays early in the second quarter. Austin White hit a wide open Nolan Hausser for a 23-yard scoring strike to give Susquehanna a 6-0 lead.<\/p>\n

The Sabers defense then buckled down and limited the Royals to 14 plays on their next three possessions.
\nSafety Brett Hepler intercepted an errant Chad Fahey pass as the first half came to an end.<\/p>\n

In the second half, Susquehanna picked up where it had left off and forced Holy Redeemer to punt the ball away on its first two possessions.<\/p>\n

Following a short Holy Redeemer punt, the Sabers covered 37 yards in six plays. On an option play from the 5-yard line, White pitched the ball to Hausser for his second touchdown of the afternoon.
