{"id":12543,"date":"2014-04-17T13:33:24","date_gmt":"2014-04-17T13:33:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/independentweekender.com\/?p=12543"},"modified":"2014-04-17T13:41:23","modified_gmt":"2014-04-17T13:41:23","slug":"charges-filed-in-infant-crash-death","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.greenstreetdata.com\/PS\/2014\/04\/17\/charges-filed-in-infant-crash-death\/","title":{"rendered":"Charges filed in infant crash death"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>BY STACI WILSON<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Police say a Kingsley man was responsible for the Labor Day 2013 motor vehicle crash that claimed the life of a six-month-old girl in Lenox Twp.<\/p>\n<p>Zach Philip Larue, 21, was charged by Tpr. Michael Riccardella with homicide by vehicle, aggravated assault by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter, recklessly endangering another person, reckless driving and related charges.<\/p>\n<p>Larue\u2019s vehicle was traveling south on Route 92 around 7 p.m., on Sept. 2, 2013 when, according to police, his vehicle crossed over the double yellow center lines and struck a Ford Edge SUV and a Volkswagen Jetta, both traveling north on the roadway.<\/p>\n<p>All of the people involved in the crash were taken to either UHS Wilson Medical Center in New York or Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton.<\/p>\n<p>Laney Johnson an infant passenger in the SUV that was struck, was later transported by ambulance to Danville and died three days later at Janet Weis Children&#8217;s Hospital pediatric intensive care unit as a result of head trauma suffered in the crash, according to Montour County Coroner Scott Lynn.<\/p>\n<p>Larue was arraigned Tuesday morning before Magisterial District Judge Jeffrey Hollister in Montrose. Bail was set at $75,000.
