A Cessna 210 crash landed early Thanksgiving morning in Bridgewater Twp.
\nPennsylvania State Police, Gibson, Tpr. Eric McAndrew reported the single-engine plane suffered an engine failure at about 2:46 a.m. and pilot Kyle Parker, of Hasborough Heights, N.J., put the plane down at the intersection of Route 706 and Scott Road, about three miles east of Montrose.<\/p>\n

Parker sustained only minor injuries in the crash. Power lines were reportedly clipped by the plane.<\/p>\n

The plane was removed Thanksgiving morning by Kozlowski Towing.<\/p>\n

Paul Johnson of the Susquehanna County Public Safety office said the department notified both the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration of the incident; and then coordinated with the agencies for their approval to remove the airplane from the site.<\/p>\n

Johnson said he met with FAA representatives at the scene Friday.<\/p>\n

In addition to the Dept. of Public Safety and PSP, other agencies that assisted at the scene included United Fire Company, Montrose; Montrose Minute Men; Penelec, and Columbia Hose Company, New Milford.<\/p>\n

Ed Kozlowski, owner of Kozlowski Towing and Repair in Clifford Twp., said the pilot had checked out of the hospital by the time his company towed the plane.<\/p>\n

“It’s amazing he wasn’t seriously injured,” Kozlowski said.<\/p>\n

In Kozlowski’s 23 years of running the tow company, he has never towed a plane before.<\/p>\n

He said he had fun meeting the challenge of hoisting the small plane onto a rollback tow truck and taking it to a lot.<\/p>\n

Parker could not be reached for comment on Thursday by Times-Tribune reporters.<\/p>\n
