Susquehanna Community\u2019s artistic director Teresa Marino had easy work casting the lead role for the schools fall drama, Dracula.<\/p>\n

Walking the halls daily at SCHS was her leading man, Clayton Hansen. Being tall and handsome doesn\u2019t hurt but having the ability to play a wide scope of roles is more important and that is what Clayton has been doing since he arrived at the school.<\/p>\n

Marino\u2019s student director, Nick Chamberlain must have been doing his job as the performance went off without a hitch.<\/p>\n

\u201cDracula,\u201d a 1924 stage adaptation of the novel by Bram Stoker, has been revised numerous times with a compressed plot with a reduced number of characters making it in reach for amateur casts, such as high schools.<\/p>\n

Taking into consideration the actors available, Marino once again waved her magic wand and found the right person for the parts necessary to make this a successful production.<\/p>\n

The drama departments\u2019 experienced members were on stage supporting this production in both major and minor roles: Jack and Joe DeLaPlaine, Michael Pelicci, Danny Staros, Ben Kane and Nick Acosta can be congratulated for one again stepping in to the roles that made for an entertaining evening.
\nBut new kid on the block, Kevin Silfee was unbelievable in his ability to memorize a great amount of dialogue to perform the role of Henry Westenra.<\/p>\n

Not to be out done by the male members of the cast, the females also filled their parts with professional enthusiasm starting with the three servant vampires: Abigail Day, Holly Christianson and Rachel Serfilippi; Alyssa Rock as the mother opposite Silfee\u2019s father role; the prime and proper servant was played by Annabelle DiNoto; and Jessi Staros and Kayla Marino as the female leads were perfect for their respective roles.<\/p>\n

The stage crew: Jessica Plutino, Rachel Serfilippi, Aaron Herbert, Jarrett Dininny are to be applauded for their amazing work that transferred the stage from a bedroom, to a living room, to a doctor\u2019s office and back again, all with different colored walls and furniture.<\/p>\n

Sound and lighting were handled by Cameron Barnes and Susie Chamberlain.<\/p>\n

Special thanks went out to the administration and staff of SCHS along with all the parent involvement and volunteers. Their support is a vital part of any production and much appreciated.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
