The Montrose Area girls’ basketball team improved to 18-2 on the year with a 69-29 victory over Susquehanna on the road on Thursday.
The Meteors got a 25-11 lead after the first and never looked back as they went into halftime with a 45-18 lead.
In the third the Meteors outscored the Sabers 21-7, and after a 4-3 fourth quarter, Montrose took the win.
Dallas Ely scored a game-high 23 points while Sara Krupinski added 14 and Myra Lattimore had 10.
Mashawna Hargett led Susquehanna with 13 points including three 3-pointers while Mikayla Hargett had six.
Forest City
TheForestCitygirls’ basketball team picked up a 44-34 victory overMountain Viewat home on Thursday night.
The Lady Foresters got ahead early with a 10-5 run over the Eagles in the first and held an 18-13 lead at halftime.
In the second half,ForestCityoutscoredMountain View19-11 in the third, and despite a 10-7 Eagle run in the fourth, the Foresters took the win.
The Lady Foresters were paced by Carly Erdmann with 20 points while Cassandra Bendyk and Taylor Tammero each scored six.
Mountain viewwas led by Dominique Chadwick with nine points while Megan Kress chipped in seven.

The Blue Ridge girls’ basketball team was handed a 51-36 loss from Lackawanna Trail on the road on Thursday evening.
The Lady Lions got ahead 16-7 after the first quarter and held a 31-19 lead over the Raiders at halftime.
In the second half, each team scored six in the third and the Lady Lions capped off the win with a 14-11 run in the fourth quarter.
Ashley Warren ledBlue Ridgewith 10 points while Jenna Rupakus and Kristen Brown each scored nine.
Elk Lake
TheElkLakegirls’ basketball team faced a 51-49 loss on Thursday night during a matchup withLakeland’s Lady Chiefs.
The Warriors got ahead 13-4 with a big first quarter, but fell behind by halftime with a 21-6Lakelandrun to make it 25-19 at the break.
After the half, Elk Lake paced the Chiefs 16-9 in the third to hold a 35-34 lead going into the fourth. However,Lakelandpaced the Warriors 17-14 in the final minutes to take the win.
ElkLakewas led by Meghan Bush’s 21 points while Taylor Watkins had 10 points and Sarah Kwaitkowski had seven.
