The county assessment office was restructured by the salary board July 22 with one job title eliminated and another position created.
The board eliminated the position of Assistant Chief Assessor and created a rank of Director of Assessment. County treasurer Catherine Benedict voted against the restructuring.
Mary Noldy, who held the Assistant Chief position, will fill the newly created position.
County Commissioner Alan Hall said the Noldy will oversee personnel and operations in the department, while Chief Assessor Tom Button handles the technical aspects of the assessment.
The commissioners exonerated the tax claim bureau from collecting delinquent taxes on a parcel in New Milford Borough, consisting of a trailer in the name of Michael Bailey.
The trailer was deleted by the assessment office in June and had been removed in 2013. The total amount exonerated from collection was $300.43.
After tabling a memorandum of understanding between the county’s juvenile probation department and the local school district at a previous meeting, the commissioners approved the agreement.
The county also approved a list of fiscal year 2015-16 Lackawanna-Susquehanna Drug and Alcohol program provider contracts.
Several service agreements for Children and Youth were also signed by the commissioners.
Sealed bids for an HVAC maintenance contract were opened by the commissioners. Hall said the bids would be sent to the county solicitor and engineers for review.
The following people were appointed to serve on one-year term on the Susquehanna County Tourism Committee: Kim Ross, Michele Suchnik, Andy Auklakh, Gregg Confer, and Alan Aronowitz.
In other personnel matters, four part-time correction officer positions at the county jail were filled; and two corrections officers transferred into full-time positions.
The commissioners also acknowledged the transfer of Courtney Canfield from the Domestic Relations department to the position of 2nd Deputy Prothonotary, per the recommendation of Prothonotary Susan Eddleston.
