In the last two games of the regular season, Fallon Gurn gave her opponents a run for their money under the basket by scoring 23 points and snagging 18 rebounds to help the Lady Meteors secured the division championship and remain undefeated in division play.

Gurn is the Independent’s Student Athlete of the Week.

“I started playing (basketball) because the sport looked like a lot of fun to learn,” Gurn said who got her start in the first grade. “I like that it is a team sport, you can’t win the game by yourself; you win it with your team.”

“We’ve had a lot of success with past seasons and I’m hoping this year will be the same.” Gurn said. Her wish came true as the Lady Meteors swept all other Division IV teams.

In the off-season, Gurn keeps herself busy working on the weekends and throughout the summer. She also plays soccer and is a member of the Montrose track team. Dancing is another thing that she loves. She was crowned Homecoming Queen in October.

Gurn plans to attend Marywood University in Scranton where she will pursue a major in Nutrition.
She lives in Brackney and is the daughter of James and Lisa Gurn.
