Montrose’s Jacob O’Brien (106) fought back from a loss on the opening day of the 37th annual Tunkhannock Kiwanis Tournament to Noah Sirianni to finish third with a rematch in the medal rounds over the injured Abington Heights wrestler. O’Brien won the match by an injury default.

The Montrose wrestler was winning the bout 14-2 before it was called for Sirianni’s injury.

Elk Lake’s Blaise Cleveland advanced to the championship semifinals. Wrestling at 195, he won both of his Monday (Dec. 29) matches by pinning Abington Heights’ Adam Wellard and Mount Carmel’s Allen Yancoskie.

He fell to Wyoming Sem’s Aidan Mathews in the semi-final round; and was then defeated by Mount Carmel’s Allen Yancoskie in the match for third.

Montrose’s Patrick Parks (145) and Blue Ridge’s Ryan Rogers finished in sixth place; and Elk Lake’s Jacob Hand (152) came in eighth.
