Susquehanna Community High School’s Christian Miller is the Independent’s Student Athlete of the Week. Miller, a senior, has been playing football for five years.
“What I like the most is being with the teammates and having fun.” said Miller, a defensive end.
The Sabers have had a very good season that has been full of ups and downs, but they have been successful with a winning record and earned the opportunity to play in the Class A District 2 Championship Game. While they didn’t win the championship, being the district runner-up shows a lot of mettle and teamwork throughout the season.
Miller is a three-sport athlete who, in addition to football, also plays basketball and baseball for the Sabers.
He has earned several awards and honors due to his athletic talents. He has been named defensive player of the game many times for football, and has been a first team All-Star at the defensive end position. He was also named a first team All-Star as a utility player for baseball.
When he is not playing or practicing sports, Miller likes to spend time outdoors. He loves hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and riding his four-wheeler. He also works with his dad, a contractor, and plans to do that full-time after graduation.
Miller was recently voted to the Homecoming Court by his peers and as also a member of the Prom Court last Spring.
He lives in Harmony Township and is the son of Chris and Joni Miller.
