New Milford Boro to hold public meeting on recent community survey

The New Milford Borough Council and Planning Commission has scheduled a public meeting for Wednesday, Sept. 9, 6:30 p.m., at the Borough Building, 948 Main Street, to discuss the recent community survey conducted by the Borough and opportunities and issues related to the Borough’s future.

The survey was conducted as part of the preparation of a comprehensive plan to chart the course of growth and development over the next 10 to 15 years.

Survey questions focused on such community issues as the need for Main Street sidewalks and other improvements, business development and adequate community facilities and services such as water supply, sewage disposal, recreation, police protection, fire protection and ambulance service.

In addition to commenting on specific issues, respondents identified the most critical issues facing the Borough.

The Plan will include goals and objectives and actions related to community facilities and services, streets and sidewalks, business development, land use, housing, natural resources and land use management.

The Borough obtained a grant from the PA Department of Community and Economic Development to pay for half the comprehensive plan.

The Borough is seeking participation from as many residents and business owners as possible and all are encouraged to attend.
