Police are looking for the man who robbed a South Montrose convenience store at gunpoint last week, then crashed into another car while fleeing the scene.
After brandishing a pistol and holding the Montrose Beer & Deli (formerly Lockhart’s Deli) cashier at gunpoint, the man demanded all the money from the cash register and got away with over $1,000.
The suspect fled the scene in a waiting, small SUV, possibly a dark colored Jeep Liberty, south toward Tunkhannock, crashing into a northbound vehicle traveling on the roadway. The getaway vehicle struck the rear portion of a vehicle.
The SUV fled the crash scene at a high rate of speed, according to police.
No injuries were reported in the robbery or subsequent crash.
The suspect is a white male who was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and had his face covered with a black bandana.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pennsylvania State Police, Gibson barracks at 570-465-3154.
