Blue Ridge
Sophomore Mike Allen said it’s been a difficult season for the boys basketball team, winning just four games. However, two of the victories came in the Raiders’ final three games.

“Things got a little better toward the end,” Allen said. “But I think we could have won more games than we did.”

A highlight that stands out for Allen this season came Jan. 20 when the Raiders defeated rival Susquehanna in double overtime, 58-53. He scored seven points in the win.

This week, Blue Ridge is scheduled to face Hanover Area in the first round of the District 2 Class AA playoffs.

“Because we don’t have a high seed, it’s going to be a tough game,” Allen said.

Allen has been playing basketball since he was in elementary school. Besides the varsity team, he plays AAU basketball for 21 Hoops. And, he enjoys watching college basketball and rooting for Syracuse University.

In the spring, Allen is thinking about playing for the boys volleyball team.
