Austin Felter, says this basketball season is different from his previous years playing the game. “The season so far has a lot of pressure knowing that this is my last year and trying to make it special for those I’ve always played with to make it memorable, Felter said. The Susquehanna senior is the Independent’s Athlete of the Week.

Felter started playing basketball in elementary school. “I’ve been playing basketball since our school started a program for the younger grades to have camps and play in half court games. I started playing mostly because my older brothers, who I looked up to, played.”

“I like the competition and being able to play with all of my friends that I grew up with,” he said.
Football and baseball are other sports that keep the Saber athlete busy all year long. When he’s not playing or practicing for sports, he likes to spend time with his friends and family.

Academics are also important, as proven by his membership in the National Honor Society.

His future plans include attending Penn State University to pursue a major in mechanical engineering.

Felter lives in Susquehanna with his parents, Steve and Theresa Felter.
