Carly Erdmann led all scorers with 16 points asForestCitydefeated Hershey Christian, 40-21, atMiltonHersheyHigh Schoolon Tuesday in a PIAA Class A play-in game in the girls basketball tournament.
“It’s really great for us to bounce back after that tough game in the District 2 final,” said Erdmann, citing her team’s loss to Old Forge on Saturday. “We really came together, played hard and played a really great game.”
ForestCityjumped out to a 29-9 lead in the first half and never looked back.
“We played together as a team,” Erdmann said. “Everybody chipped in with good passes and good shots. We really worked hard on our defense, got off to a good start, then finished tough.
“We really wanted to get this win.”
Cassandra Bendyk, a sophomore, contributed 10 points and freshman Katelyn Zembrzycki had seven points for the Lady Foresters.
Christy Lorah scored a team-high seven points for Hershey Christian.
