Santa Claus arrived in Montrose Saturday night on the bumper of an Elk Lake fire truck decked out in holiday lights.
Unseasonably warm temperatures brought hundreds out to the annual Parade of Lights, sponsored by the United Fire Company.
The parade featured fire trucks, floats and marching merry makers. The Cabot/GDS float depicting a Christmas hot air balloon ride was the top entry. As an award, Santa will ride the companies’ float in next year’s parade.
After the final truck had passed, revelers made their way to the fire hall where they were greeted by cookies and hot cocoa.

Santa then made his way to the hall and greeted the children who patiently waited their turn to whisper their Christmas wishes. Children also received a special treat from Santa.
